RaShonda is a Music director, composer, pianist and artist. The Saginaw, Michigan native holds a Bachelor of Music from Howard University in Washington D.C. and a Master of Arts from New York University.

Following the release of her first EP in 2018 entitled, Girl Born on a Monday, RaShonda has performed at Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, Sid Gold’s Request Room, Joe’s Pub, Park Avenue Armory and a host of other NYC venues, including "The Shed- Open Call" where she served as Music director for HIR, the original opera by Richard Kennedy. She also performed in Kennedy's Collapsed Operetta, “A Touch of Elegance” which premiered at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Virginia Commonwealth University in November 2019.

Her Spring 2020 work, “A Day with Mae” (a composition based on the words of NASA Astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison) was commissioned by Trio Triumphatrix, as part of the Voices of Ascension Inaugural Concert series in NYC 2021-2022.

In the Spring of 2022 she was featured as an artist in residence at Soho House in Berlin, Germany and as the keyboardist for My Barbarian’s 2022 residency at the Whitney Museum of Art.

She has released her second solo project, Scorpio Moon in the Spring 2023. She most recently served as the as the Music Director for Hybrid Peasant, a three-act tragic comedy operetta created by Richard Kennedy in January of 2024 at Performance Space New York’s Keith Haring theater.
